- 2007 Omaha City Council. Cox Communications Omaha, L.L.C. Conceptualization, legal analysis, negotation and preparation of legislation and contract provisions clarifying franchise agreement incenting upgrade of existing network and expansion of high definition television programming. Legislation unanimously passed by City Council and signed into law.
- 2007 Nebraska Legislature. Metro Student Achievement Steering Committee. Conceptualization, legal analysis, negotiation and drafting of legislation, and amendments, to bring about achievement and diversity in metropolitan area with multiple school districts. Nationally recognized legislation passed by Legislature on a 33-14 vote and signed into law.
- From 1995 to 2006, lawyers now a part of the Firm served as Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature as Speaker, Chair of the Judiciary Committee, member of the Education Committee, counsel to the Speaker, and counsel to the Judiciary Committee. While a State Senator, Kermit Brashear introduced 266 legislative bills, 123 of which became law in some form, a 46 percent success rate compared to 30 percent for the Legislature as a whole.
